Citizen Journalists Network (CJN) participated as a key stakeholder at the Civil Society Roundtable on Nigeria's Digital Economy, a high-level dialogue focused on shaping an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable digital future for the country.
Convened by the Civil Society Groups on Good Governance (CSGGG), the roundtable brought together representatives from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the Nigerian Army, civil society organisations, non-governmental organisations, and other key stakeholders. Discussions centred on strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration, promoting responsible digital innovation, and advancing governance frameworks that support Nigeria's rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
CJN President, Michael Edem-Duke, moderated a panel session and contributed to strategic discussions on the importance of citizen-centred digital policies, institutional collaboration, and inclusive governance in harnessing technology for national development.
The engagement reaffirmed CJN's commitment to fostering dialogue, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to evidence-informed policies that leverage digital transformation to improve governance, expand opportunities, and deliver meaningful social impact.
