Citizen Journalists Network (CJN) is a solutions media organisation advancing public impact and development in Africa. We use citizen participation, ground-level research and lived experiences to investigate real challenges, generate reliable insights and work with stakeholders to co-create practical solutions that respond to the realities of communities.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that the people closest to a problem should have a voice in defining both the problem and the solution. CJN therefore works with citizens and communities to investigate issues from the ground up, document lived realities, amplify community voices and translate local knowledge into evidence that can inform action, policy and sustainable interventions.
Our work is centred on Public Impact, with core expertise across Solutions Journalism, Social Development, Public Policy, Media, and Civic Engagement & Advocacy.
CJN empowers people with the knowledge, tools and opportunities to investigate issues, contribute their experiences and perspectives, co-create solutions and drive lasting social impact across Africa.

As Citizen Journalists, We have a network of focal persons across diverse localities who provide firsthand insights by empowering communities to tell their own stories, in their own voices, with their own lenses and advocate for their own kinds of solutions. By amplifying local voices, we uncover what truly matters to the people on the ground and mobilize solutionsthat are truly reflective of their needs for lasting impact.
