Citizen Journalists Network unveils Nollywood Actor, Yul Edochie as Goodwill Ambassador

Citizen Journalists Network (CJN), a humanitarian community of ordinary citizens committed to investigating and promoting sustainable solutions to social welfare challenges in Nigeria, officially launched a groundbreaking humanitarian initiative known as Brother’s Keeper.

CJN is dedicated to giving ordinary citizens a platform to tell their own stories, advocate for their own solutions, and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.

The Brother’s Keeper Challenge is Nigeria’s first national humanitarian competition where participants undertake projects aimed at impacting lives and developing their local communities for the opportunity to win personal cash prizes and secure resources to execute major community projects.

The competition offers a grand prize of ₦5,000,000 alongside support for participants to establish impactful community-based initiatives tailored to the needs of their localities.

Participants are provided with resources to organize and execute humanitarian outreaches or development campaigns of their choice. They are subsequently assessed based on their creativity, commitment, and ability to improve lives through practical community interventions.

The initiative emphasizes that meaningful impact does not necessarily require large-scale or complex ideas — every genuine effort that positively affects lives matters.

Brother’s Keeper stands as a first-of-its-kind competition that rewards individuals not merely for talent or entertainment, but for their passion for humanity, service to society, and commitment to community development.

Popular Nigerian actor Yul Edochie officially signed on as an Ambassador for the project following a two-day meeting with the President and Founder of CJN, Michael Edem-Duke, held in Enugu on July 7, 2019. The partnership marked the beginning of a one-year collaboration aimed at advancing the vision and impact of the initiative.

CJN also announced plans to unveil additional ambassadors and partners committed to supporting the vision of the Brother’s Keeper movement.
